This is a beach, which was difficult to reach earlier, but now the highway is completed and is only few miles from international airport at San Jose. In addition to the scenic beaches, it has Ballena national park, which is home for endangered species of turtles.
With the completion of new coastal highway project, it is now easier to reach to the mountains and jungles of Corcovado. At the foot of these mountains, there are beaches with dark sand.
